Yousef Karsh - "His Holiness Pope Pius XII"

I think this photo of Pope Pius XII is the best example of lighting used to describe the subject's character from the collection of Yousef Karsh's photographs. The light that falls on his face comes from a high angle and it gives an impression of a divine light. Although most people view the pope with reverence, this photo reveals a certain humility that is essential in being pope.
